Social has attracted a mixed audience and for the first time will play host to the festival's key headline artists from the worlds of literary, music and art.Supported using public funding from the National Lottery through Arts Council England's Grant for the arts scheme, Vamos festival is now in its' 11th year, after celebrating its' 10th birthday last year by welcoming Kid Creole and the Coconuts to the region.So if you want to get into the party spirit and join in the Vamos! Festival celebrations, here's everything you need to know.What is the Vamos ? The festival celebrates Spanish and Portuguese speaking cultures, Vamos! combines cuisine, art, film, theatre, dance, music, literature, fashion, sport and education offering an international festival appealing to partners and diverse mainstream audiences. It aims to promote appreciation and understanding of other cultures. It is funded by Newcastle University, Arts Council England, the Mexican Embassy and Instituto Cervantes.When will it take place? The event will bring plenty of colour to Newcastle and North Tyneside from June 8 12.Where will it take place? For the first time this year the festival programme centres around the Vamos!
